Field Resources

This page links to the official SCSBOA website and contains resources for the current field season. Note that the link may or may not work depending on whether a season is in session; it should become more populated around late September or early October.
Original Spreadsheet

This is the original spreadsheet of data collected and organized by me in high school. In past years, some columns are missing as I added more sub-categories later, and data from last year (2025) is also missing. I can no longer retrieve additional data from past years as the original scoresheets have been deleted on CompetitionSuite.
Glossary
This is a list of terms/lingo and their definitions commonly used in marching band.
- Overall
- The school's overall score that takes into account multiple factors, such as music performance, general effect, and visual performance. Auxiliary does not affect this score.
- Auxiliary
- Any accompanying performers that do not play a musical instrument, such as baton twirlers or color guard. Auxiliary score does not contribute to the overall score.
- Percussion
- Performers who play percussive instruments, specifically the battery and the pit. Battery instruments include snare drum, bass drum, etc. and they march with the band. Pit instruments typically include the marimba, vibraphone, gong, etc. and they play separately from the band, usually on the front line.
- Penalties
- Points docked for rule breakage or timing violations, such as walking onto the field before instructed or taking too long to set up.
- General Effect
- A scoring category that judges how well the overall design, music, and visuals create an impactful show.
